Early 19th Century Westerwald Beer Jug.
Known for it's durabilitly and salt-glaze fininsh. Adorned with various mythical and whimsical designs including a cherub in the main panel. It has blue and purple glazes. The text on the mug is from the poem "Die Lindenwirtin" by Rudolph Baumbach (1876).
Measures approximately10 3/4" tall by 8" wide.
