Antique Victorian Fairy Lamps
These antique miniature lanterns were sometimes hung on Christmas trees as well as placed around Victorian homes. A votive candle was used inside the lamp with a small amount of water placed on the bottom. This would allow the candle to burn for many hours and then extinguish itself. It was a safer lighting device than oil lamps or tapers. There are many different colors, and some are rarer than others. Some also have makers marks on the bottom.
